Wonderful Wednesday =)

Today's wonderful! Well, there are many reasons why. Let me enumerate them. =)

1. Shoes!- I was able to buy two pairs of shoes for P800.00. Thanks to my friend, Danica, who helped me pick the right soles.

2. Reyes Barbeque Liempo- I've been craving for that for weeks and I finally got to munch on its sinful yet really delicious barbecued liempo! Their peanut sauce, which is now unlimited as you dine, completes and complements their grilled meats. I dream of their food, at times. Hehe!

3. Magic Mike- This is a movie about strippers in Tampa, Florida. It was based on Channing Tatum's real life stint as a stripper before he made it big in Hollywood. What I loved about this movie is Channing. Hahah!  And Matthew McConaughey!  They really personified their characters.
Conclusion: Channing is AMAZING!

4. New friends- It's nice when you get to know new people. People who used to be mere strangers but are   now your friends. What a wide world this is, with the best people in my sphere! =) Thank God!

I'll update this post with photos soon! Sorry gotta go now! =)

Sleep well, everyone!

What I'm Reading

Hi everyone! How's your night going? =)

Anyway, I'd like to share with you a book I started reading today. Many friends have told me to give it a try, but I kept on hesitating.

Well, this time, I gave in. Why? Let's say I wanna take in as much as my mind can, as many life lessons I could process. All the differences in beliefs, all that I could probably digest and bring to life. And having read the first three chapters, I gotta say that I don't regret picking this book up. =)

This is "I Kissed Dating Good Bye" by Joshua Harris.
Interesting title, isn't it?
It's basically about dating and relationships but the entire book is grounded on
Biblical and Christian perspectives.
My copy came from Cleng. As usual, I borrowed a book instead of buying myself one! Hahaha!
Kuripot lang. =)

Here are some of the quotes that struck me ...

"But I'm still aware of  the consequences of my selfishness. I gave my heart away too many times. And I took from girls what wasn't mine."

"True love isn't just expressed in passionately whispered words or an intimate kiss or an embrace; before two people are married, love is expressed in self-control, patience, and even words left unsaid."

"The pleasure of hook-ups is fleeting."

Let it Rain

The  night is gloomy and the air is thick.
There's a certain sadness that  creeps within the fibers of my being.
In the end, we are all alone.
We walk the paths of life in our singleness.
Thank God for friends and good memories that certain types of inferiority get appeased.

The monsters of the night
haunt and kill.
Always sprawl.
Circling thy being.
We, the prey, abound.
Lying unconsciously,
cut open.
Splintered,
Sedated yet sore.
Not bleeding,
Not wailing.
Swabbed with numbness.
With wounds that heal,
and at times,
open fresh,
flesh anew.
Sticky red blood,
gush.
Forming you.

Weekend =)

There's much to digest this weekend. I think many things need adjusting and tweaking, especially my concept of time and my motivation to start doing things. To make dreams and such happen. Well, you see, I always have a tendency to runaway when things get murky, or muddy, or too complex. When things get really heavy upon my shoulders, I tend to look for the exit sign. This goes for almost everything in my life. Perhaps more sleep and less stress and de-cluttering my mind would keep me on track and not off it. I've been idling and wasting time... Gotta prioritize. Anyway, wish me luck!

And here are  photos that I want to share this week:

Translation: Just smile! God didn't wake up you up for today to merely frown.

Gotta tell me this!

Have a great weekend everybody! =)
Let's smile and keep going!

"Call Me Maybe" - Histerya sa Faculty Room

Here's my co-workers and I's version of Carly Rae Japsen's viral video, Call Me Maybe!
It's fun to fool around with good friends, that's all!

imy!

I miss my elementary friends. I remember sharing the corniest, stupidest things like dreams and wishes and pains of childhood with them. There'd always be something special in this kind of friendship. Oh, innocence! =)

Come Out to Play

Note: After a week of simply chasing the "high" of having a crush, I'm killing the liking I have for that wrong person.

COME OUT TO PLAY
 By Yen Reyes

With little paper boats,
afloat in a nearby puddle,
artificial cookware and toy cars on dirt,
and tiny pebbles scattered,
all around the cold, hard floor
of the heated earth,
he flicked a finger
to make them stones move.
As she await her turn,
with giggly anticipation,
there came voices.
they chuckled and pounded
against each other.
And she had her try,
with 'em pebbles.
He didn't see.
and nothing moved either.
One quick glimpse,
they knew for sure.
The pebbles are done with.
They left the area,
walking side by side,
at first.
Then,
She was behind,
his fast paces.
 and his wingmen.
Then there were mere spaces.
and shadows,
and fading voices,
against the backdrop,
of a setting sun.
She looked,
to where they are.
And lowered her glance.
Never play with boys.
"You delighted me."
