Today's such a difficult day for me. Thank God for friends. I would have been crazy if I were alone all the time. ^_^
This blog is Trijata's yellow brick road to Nirvana. Being broke, in many ways, she's trying to change. ^_^

Just something somethin'! ^_^
Here are some things that I've recently tried.
1. 7-Eleven's Hotta Rice Chicken Meal
Are you a chicken person? If yes, well, head for 7-Eleven! They've got one of the most "sulit" chicken meals out there! With P65.00, you get a big piece of chicken (leg, thigh, wing or breast) with an unlimited serving of rice! For take-out orders, they automatically put two servings of rice! =) I'm recommending this meal not only for its great fill on your tummy, but also because it's really delicious! It can give Jollibee or KFC a run for their money! =) The downside, though, is its availability. Not all 7-Eleven stores offer 'em. =( I get mine along Pearl Drive in Ortigas. =)
2. Gong Cha and Zen Tea
It's the season for cool drinks. I usually just go for fruit shakes or cold water but since teas are in, I went with the trend and tried Gong Cha. Well, I've also tried Zen tea in front of UA&P but both tea stores disappointed me. Sure, they serve drinks that'd beat the summer heat but the tastes of the few drinks I've tried were just ordinary. To better describe 'em, they merely tasted like sugared water. These drinks are also very pricey for their quality. I don't think it's a good buy. Well, that's just me. =) Perhaps I need to go tea drinkin' more to be a better judge of naichas. Hahaha.
3. Office Coffee
Hahaha! This is the vendo coffee that I regularly have each morning. Nothing special about it, it's just that the new styro cup's really cute. It comes with a nice quote. It says....
"Love is, above all else, the gift of oneself"
P.S. The quote isn't grammatically correct but it struck a chord in my heart.

Tired
Tonight isn't such a good night. As much as I enjoyed being with friends, dancing and partying, I feel kinda down. =( I don't want to falter from things that I've already started. I don't wanna go back to zero. =(
Sorry if my light is off tonight. I have so much to do, so little time. I want to sleep and relax more.
Off to sleep, for two hours. =(

Korean Ice Cream
Everyone's crazy about Magnum these days. Haven't tried it but I heard from the grapevine that it's too sweet and quite overpriced. If that is so, why all the madness? Could it be great advertising? I have no idea yet. I'll be judging that baby against my taste buds soon. For the meantime, allow me to share another type of ice cream that would also cool your blazing summer off while giving you a heavy fill.
It's Korean ice cream! ^_^
Lots and lots of choices! Dunno what the characters mean, though! Hahah! |
I think this is Melon Popsicle. |
Dan's got the mongo-flavored one... |
Oops! This is not ice cream! |
I love summer! =)
More and more ice cream!

Rainy days and nights won't get me down =)
It was pouring this afternoon and a chilly night is here in Manila. I have always loved the rain. It comes with a pang of pain and heaps of joy. Whenever it rains, the world seems brighter to me. Like, God cried for me and now I'm unburdened, or the streets have been swept and cleaned out of the Maker's mercy. Or simply because, those droplets represent tears, that I didn't have to shed myself. On the other hand, it's also kinda gloomy on the inside when the temperature goes lower and the surroundings seem way darker. You just realize that you are somehow alone, and that things would be better if there's someone there beside you.
Anyway, for tonight, I'll be sharing with you some of the things I pray and hope for.

Number 9. Claire~ I want to be as forgiving and faithful to God as Claire. [I ran out of space there and the last on my list is barely readable in the picture above!] |
I hope to be a better person.
I am shouting it out to the rain!

Late Lunch Date Korean Style! ^_______^
Anyeong haseyo! ^^_
I am an English tutor to Koreans. That's my "other" job. =) I gotta say, I love my Korean students and I certainly enjoy learning more and more about Korea, its people and culture. The photo above was taken from our college's 25th anniversary concert wherein I played dress up as a Korean in hanbok. Though I didn't look Korean at all, the experience was still fun!
Today, I had another "Korean" experience... and it was sumptuous! I had lunch with my beloved co-workers and friends in one of the Korean restaurants here in Manila. To document things, I snapped and snapped with my camera. Forgive me for the poor photos though. =)
JANG GA NAE Restaurant in Ortigas |
We are celebrating! Here are the reasons for this lunch out.
First of all, today's pay day, haha!
Secondly, it was Heidi's birthday yesterday! Sengil chuka hamnida !
The third reason is, Danica passed the PNU entrance exam and she'll be studying again next semester! Yay!
Moreover, Rose and her boyfriend recently celebrated their 5th anniversary together!
Ahhhhh, sweet love!
We are also happy that GL Summer's ever blooming, less stressed and happy!
Above all, the most important reason for this lunch out, would be Inah's financial abundance.
Ikaw na may part time! Haha. ^_^ .
As for me, I'm just hopeful.
Kamsahamnida God for good friends. =)
We ordered Galbi-jim, Samgyeopsal, and Ojinguh bokkeum.
Like in ordinary Korean restos, many side dishes including a huge serving of vegetable salad,
a bowl of soup and a serving of fruit came with our main dishes.
I really loved their Kimchi and the miso-tasting soup.
The service in Jang Ga Nae was also commendable. Our lovely food attendant served every dish with a beaming smile.
'Til next food trip! ^_^
